Challenge.
The challenge was to identify the most relevant innovation opportunities for TRUMPF’s core business from a pool of 80 ideas - within a fast, focused, and robust discovery process. This required aligning internal priorities with external customer needs. One potential opportunity area emerged from increasing price pressure in the market, driven largely by lower-cost imports from non‑European manufacturers that have been gaining influence over TRUMPF’s competitive landscape.
Approach.
Using our evaluation framework, we distilled a broad set of ideas into a clearly prioritized solution. This solution was then commercially validated - for example through systematic stakeholder mapping and calculating optimization potential such as improvements in closing rate, allowing us to quantify the economic impact with precision. Based on this foundation, a well‑grounded product roadmap for the FundingNavigator was developed as the next step.
